A couple of new things

This is a logo I designed for Yeti Farm Productions. I don't think it will be final, I'm going to try and make it a little less Honkbarn style. Below is a background pan for an animated section of a live action short film. This particular shot won't be used so I can post it. Once the film is complete you'll be able to see it on the jumbo screens at various 2010 olympic venues.

New identity

This fall I am going to start up an umbrella company to handle all of my freelance work. A place to showcase my work and demo reel, etc. It's pretty tough trying to think of a good name that sticks. Ash and I thought about T&A (Todd and Ash) but that company name is already registered. I then combined our high school nicknames, Tabber and Bosh for Tabberbosh. I kind of like it but not enough to use it. I'll keep thinking about a name but I did this little mock up for Tabberbosh even though it will never be used. If you suggest something rad, like Chunkhole productions, and if I use it, you can't sue.

Here's a new character that was inspired by my collection of cowboy boots. For those who didn't know this about me I've been collecting cowboy boots for the past 18 years and now have a total of 76251 boots. 12 of them are snake-skin but only 2 have good soles because the others are worn out from two-steppin'. YEEEE HAWWWW!!!

Honkbarn 4 is complete!

It's been a long haul but I've finally finished Honkbarn episode 4. It's over a minute and a half and features some amazing voices from Johnny Darrell and his son Kai.

Website Design

I've just started putting together a Honkbarn website. Click on the image for a larger version. This is a design I threw together tonight, I'm not sure if it will be used but I figure it's a good start. The website will include the films, an art gallery, and eventually a store once I have enough shorts to put a DVD together. The black areas will include interactive links to the other pages on the website. I'd like to add some animation to the front page.

You Don't Have to YELL

This is a painting I did tonight during a break from animation. It was done left-handed. I have to pay such close attention to detail at work that it's sometimes nice to escape that way of thinking and just let my eyes wander as I draw.

Thanks to the wonders of the internet I was able to track Dave down through a myspace search.
